FormSpring & other things

FormSpring

Now you can ask me things about stuff.

So its 2011. Another year to keep on keeping on. I plan on trying many new things this year if life permits. I've got some new ideas up my sleeve. There should be a few new pieces in the shop soon. 2 at least. A necklace and a pair of earrings.
Another goal for the year is to get organized (again). It has come to my attention I have too many outlets on the internet. There is my DeviantArt journal, my blog, my facebook fanpage, my flickr, my (new) formspring, my shop, my twitter. TOO MUCH. Or at least, too many places to maintain in the same ways. So, in order to keep it all rolling along smoothly I'm making some decisions. I know its impossible to please everyone, so I am just going to have to do what is good for me, and hope it makes some happy too.

Here are changes off the top of my head...

Journaling/blogging/writing will all be done in the blog. I can't keep posting here and on DeviantArt. It is exhausting. I write too slowly and having a laid back journal and "shop/business" journal is too hard. So it will all be over here. One day it might be "Oh hey here is a new thing I made." The next might be a personal gripe entry about how I think sometimes social media kills close friendships that never needed facebook to "keep in touch better". That's right. It will all come down the pike here. My DevArt journal will eventually change to a permanent space for referencing links to my other things.

Tweeting will stay with twitter. It will be whatever I feel like tweeting, not limited to just business tweets. (Think of it as a mini blog in 140 characters or less. Plus it will probably get updated much more than my blog.) I might just update with "MONKEYS". So what you see is what you get.

Facebook fanpage remains professional business related things. Its the shop fanpage. Check it for updates and new things and specials. Its also a good place to contact me about custom stuff if you don't feel like emailing me at bluedesertrose1 at yahoo dot com.

FormSpring is new to me. Don't ask me why I thought I needed one. I guess I thought it would be an easy way to ask questions. Which you can do anonymously if you wish. A few artists I follow have one and it looked like fun, for now. If it gets to be a big pain in my butt, or gets abused, it will disappear like other things.

Which brings me to flickr. It went buhbye. I never used it. It had 6 pictures. DevArt is my "portfolio". Continue checking DeviantArt for updates of what I have made recently.

That should about cover it.
